The data for this application is sourced from http://finance.yahoo.co.uk and is retrieved in two ways.

For all the shares in the current share lists, the historical data values are pulled for a user specified period. This is primarily only used for reporting purposes as the point of sale and point of purchase prices are recorded against each user's portfolio.

• http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/q/hp? - the historical price (hp) download
• s=<sc> - where sc is the share code
• b=dd - where nn is the day of the month
• a=mm - where nn is the month number minus 1
• c=yyyy - where yyyy is the year number
• e=dd - where nn is the day of the month
• d=mm - where nn is the month number minus 1
• f=yyyy - where yyyy is the year number

The current price extract pulls the spot price from for each share at a user specified periodic interval.
